A dental prosthesis is the replacement of missing teeth or missing parts of teeth by crowns, bridges, implants, full and partial dentures.
How to care for your prosthesis?
Remove (if removable) and brush dentures at least twice a day with a soft brush and gentle cleanser. After receiving your denture you will receive a complimentary toothbrush, denture cleansing liquid, container for your denture/prosthesis as well as instructions for the care of your denture. Taking good care of your denture is of cardinal importance to promote oral & general health and well-being.
For unremoval prosthesis like crowns, implant supported crowns and bridges you’ll receive complete instructions on how to clean and maintain your prosthesis.



Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth used when large amounts of teeth are severely damaged or missing. You get two types of dentures: fixed and removable. Fixed dentures are implant supported dentures and that fits securely in your mouth whereas removable dentures are easy to take out but not so securely in your mouth.

What is a crown?
Dental Crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are fitted over a severely damaged tooth when fillings won’t help.
Why would I need a crown?
Whether you have a large cavity thats too big for a filling or a cracked, chipped or severely worn down tooth you will need a crown.
In a lot of cases crowns are also used to fill the spaces of missing teeth as it looks just like a tooth.

Temporary Crowns: Crowns only used temporarily while waiting for the real crown.
Onlay or 3/4 Crowns: Crowns that only cover a part of the tooth.

How long does a crown last?
Depending on how you care for your crown it can last on average between 5-15 years some may last even longer. Gold crowns and porcelain fused to metal crowns lasts the longest.
How to care for your crown
Brush your teeth cautiously twice a day
Floss daily
Be careful not to grind or clench your teeth
Dont chew on hard objects or food.

If you’re missing more than one consequtive tooth a dental bridge is used to close the gap.

There can be up to 4 teeth in a dental bridge.
