At APT Dental prevention is better than cure that’s why preserving your teeth is of utmost importance and with regular dental check-ups, we can prevent dental disease. While good oral health at home is important regular visits to your dentist are necessary to ensure oral health. Tartar removal needs special tools and cannot be done at home.

Why is a regular dental check-up important?

Irregular visits to your dentist will cause the build-up of dental stone and decay of the teeth. In addition to bad breath, loose teeth and the inability to chew your food, science has proven that you can become a candidate of one or more of the following conditions to mention only a few:

What is included in a dental check-up?

The check-up will consist of a thorough examination of all the hard and soft tissue in the head and neck. Digital x-rays and or 3-D x-rays will confirm the diagnosis and assist in the treatment plan. All treatment plans will be discussed and consent by the patient must be obtained before treatment.

General checkup for bleeding gums

If your gums bleed after daily flossing can be a sign of gum disease. Consult your doctor if your gums bleed regularly when brushing and flossing.

General checkups and tooth ache

Tooth ache is a result of dental decay and can be prevented mostly by maintaining a good oral health routine. With your checkup examination the suspected cause would be thoroughly examined and treated.

How many regular dental check-ups should I have?

You should have at least a regular dental check-up twice a year or as recommended by your dentist.

Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction can be done in one session and with the use of lasers bleeding, pain and healing time are reduced.
