Dental Implants

Replace a missing tooth with one that feels like a real tooth.

A Dental implant is a replacement tooth made from biocompatible metals or ceramics that is implanted into your jaw giving you the ability to go about your daily tasks as you would have with a normal tooth. The implant is done under local anesthetic. It is a modern-day sustainable solution to missing or loose teeth.

Which is better: dentures or dental implants?

Dental implants last longer than bridges or dentures which tend to break, warp, and shift over time.

What is the dental implant procedure?

The dental implant procedure starts with an initial consultation in which we walk you through the whole procedure and answer all your questions. We will also consider other factors such as bone density and gum health.

After the initial consultation, we will make an appointment to schedule the screw implant surgery which is the first step in the dental implant process.

Once the screw implant surgery is done and healed we schedule another appointment to add the abutment and crown of the dental implant. It will then look and feel like a new tooth.

How long does a dental implant procedure take?

The whole dental implant procedure can take anywhere from six weeks to six months depending on the circumstances as implants need time to fuse and anchor to your jaw.

Thanks to the technology that we use provided by Vartec and Dentsply Sirona the whole procedure of placing an implant in the dental surgery takes no more than 30 minutes. This procedure can be done either under local anaesthetic or conscious sedation in the surgery or under general anaesthetic in hospital.

Does dental implant surgery hurt?

At APT Dental we want to make the whole process as comfortable for you as possible, that is why we have a range of options available to numb the area we are working on, or completely put you to sleep while we are busy transforming your teeth into masterpieces.
